Scotia Blue Technology is a Halifax consultancy that builds AI and software systems and secures the program funding that pays for them. The firm is led by James Stirling, Principal Consultant.

How we work

We build systems whose output can be checked. A figure traces back to a source document. An application cites the program guideline it was written against. We use AI where it is genuinely good, reading documents and drafting at speed, and plain arithmetic everywhere a number has consequences. If a result cannot be verified, we do not ship it.

What we have built

Fathom, benefits brokerage software in daily production at East Coast Employee Benefits, which reproduces carrier renewal and amendment sheets to the dollar. A funding-application practice serving Nova Scotia disability support providers through the Service Evolution Fund. An electronic logbook adoption program designed for the Nova Scotia lobster fleet. Responses on federal AI and digital procurement.

How we charge

Fixed fees, stated up front. Funding application fees are flat and never contingent on the outcome. Where we would also earn from the implementation a grant funds, we say so in the engagement letter, in the same size type as everything else. Clients are always free to take our application work and hire someone else for the build.

Where

Halifax, Nova Scotia, working across Atlantic Canada. The maritime name is where we live, not a limit on what we do.
